Dominic Bonsignore aka Harmini is a singer, songwriter, rap artist, actor, and model who uses his many talents to glorify God. His youth was spent in the projects and included poverty, drug use, and prison. However, when he found God in 2005, Harmini began a radical transformation. The old things were cast away, and he has continued to pursue God passionately, using his God-given talents and abilities to spread the Gospel.

Harmini and his son, "Lil Harmini", performed at the Closing Session of the Christian Media Association Convention on October 19, 2014. Here he is singing Make You Proud of Me...

My mind and heart is SO FULL of THANKS for ALL the GREAT things HE did in the CMA Conference this weekend! I woke up around 4:30 am this morning just thanking Him through my tears!!! A very special weekend indeed! I know so many wonderful things will be the fruit of such a great event! Thanks to Tim Shields for taking such a leap of faith and ALL the long hours and effort to bring CMA to another level! Thanks to all the sponsors, volunteers, participants, speakers, exhibitors, prayer coverings, talent, audience, Irving Bible Church, Michael Anderson, Michael Glenn and Stephen Baldwin!! I am expecting the fruit from the post event to be even greater than this weekend!! God richly bless ALL who took part, small or great!!! Shalom! ~ Theresa

Pathlight Entertainment is the company that made Beyond the Farthest Star. Starring Renee O'Connor, Todd Terry, Cherami Leigh, Barry Corbin, William McNamara, Tyler Corie, Andrew Prine, Lou Betty Jr. and Shawn Roe, the film tells the story of a twist of fate that brings the national spotlight to a forgotten Texas town and a once famous preacher has an opportunity to regain his former glory or seize one last chance to restore his fractured family. Narrated by his fifteen-year-old daughter, we watch as Adam Wells, a minister driven by the prospect of achieving greatness as the next nationally-syndicated TV Evangelist lays down his opportunity at “celebrity” and even his own life in order to become something even greater... A loving husband and father to his wife and daughter.

Written and directed by Andrew Librizzi and produced by Benjamin Dane and Sally Helppie, the movie had a successful premiere in the Dallas area. A wider theatrical release will be announced soon, and there are rumors that Librizzi is working on another film project. More news to come...

Cheryl Ariaz Wicker has many years experience as a media professional as an interviewer, producer, publicist, and actress. Some of her most recent projects include working with Pure Flix Entertainment on the box office hit “God’s Not Dead;” television movie “Finding Normal,” and the upcoming theatrical release “Dancer and the Dame.” She also produced the award winning “Flag of My Father” and has worked in various other roles in film and TV. Cheryl runs Premier1 Studios, an entertainment media and marketing agency, but she is known to faith-based movie fans as the National Christian Movies Examiner and the host of the award-winning video podcast Christian MovieConnect, which allows viewers to meet the personalities behind the movies. She recently announced that CMC's new online coffee shop, Cafe Connect, will have its official launch at the Christian Media Association Convention. she runs Premier1 Studios, an entertainment media and marketing agency.

Cheryl will be teaching a workshop on Publicity 101: The Must-Know Filmmaker’s Guide to Publicity

Cheryl will use her experience as both a filmmaker and publicist to guide other filmmakers and media professionals into getting the free publicity they desire for their small independent films or other projects. Because press coverage adds instant credibility to a film, business, organization or individual (more than any form of paid advertising), it is critical that proper media etiquette be used in order to achieve success in publicity efforts.

This workshop will enable filmmakers with a small budget to do their own publicity, with little or no previous publicity experience. Attendees will learn the skills needed to identify the newsworthy stories surrounding their film, create unique and compelling angles for news coverage, pinpoint the proper timing for stories, target proper media outlets, distribute press releases, pitch stories and book interviews. She will also discuss press kit preparation as well as coordination of production stills and behind the scene interviews. Attendees will leave this seminar with the tools needed to effectively promote their films or other projects to a national audience.

& Networking Event

Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 14, 2014: The Christian Media Association will be hosting a Faith in Film Panel Discussion and Networking Event as part of their national media convention scheduled for October 17-18, 2014 at the Irving Bible Church. Friday night’s Faith in Film event is scheduled for 7:30pm to 9:00pm and is open to the public for $20 per person. (The event is included in a full registration for conference attendees.)

Benjamin Dane

CMA Dallas chapter leader, Benjamin Dane, will be the MC for the evening of discussion about the cutting edge topic of faith in film. “This year saw more diverse faith based theatrical releases and TV than ever before,” says Dane. “There seems to be a growing interest in knowing how to tap into this market. We hope to challenge Christian filmmakers to crash through boundaries with creative and inspired projects.”

Professional panelists include: Michael Cain (President M3 Films, Director/Producer); Curtis Wallace (Lawyer, Author and Producer); Danny Carrales (DRC Films); Chad Gundersen (Gundersen Entertainment); and Benjamin Dane (Actor/Producer Pathlight Entertainment).

These panelists will also be presenting workshops during the conference. A total of 25 speakers will present 50 workshops on a wide range of topics, include radio, television, graphics, public speaking, acting, PR and marketing, leadership, writing, and more. The entire convention, including workshops, exhibits, panels and receptions is $129 per person.
There is also a Hispanic track which includes a Hispanic Media Reception on Friday evening hosted by Comunicadores USA. The reception and workshops in this track will be presented in Spanish.

The event wraps on Saturday night with a keynote by Actor Stephen Baldwin which is also open to the public with tickets available individually. Each evening event is open to the public, and tickets for each event can be purchased separately.
