 Writing the Wrongs in Scripts - This workshop takes a cold hard look at the quality of Christian screenwriting and will teach you how to improve the ministry of writing. Topics covered will include, scene structure, character development, content and successful faith genres.
 How to bare your soul and then sell it. Marketing 2.0 - This marketing workshop will follow on from the screenwriting workshop and inform you how, where and what to market and with who:  What to avoid and what possibilities exist to market your products and improve their sales potential.

    Johnny Remo

    Johnny Remo founded SkipStone Pictures in 2007, the production entity of his distribution company, Inspired Family Entertainment. Inspired Family Entertainment is a motion picture production company that specializes in the production of high–quality, story-driven, thought –provoking message films and television programming for a broad range of audiences. SkipStone Pictures secures financial resources independently, enabling them to produce economical, cost-effective films. SkipStone Pictures continues to strive to be a leader and has proven so with the success of their movies, ALetter to Dad, Cutback, Hardflip, Like A Country Song, and Saved By Grace. Their current project is F.R.E.D.I. which is now in post-production.

    Inspired Family Entertainment is a global distribution vehicle that places their productions and ones they distribute directly to Theaters, DVD, Walmart, Redbox, TV, Netflix, Bookstores, Amazon, iTunes, Pay Per View, and other streaming outlets, and retailers worldwide.

    Earl Heard

    Earl B. Heard is the founder and CEO of the Business and Industry Communications (BIC) Alliance, a multi-industry strategic marketing firm; IVS Investment Banking, a merger and acquisition and investment banking firm; BIC Recruiting, an executive recruiting firm; and BIC Media Solutions, a custom publishing, event planning and media investment company. He is the publisher of BIC Magazine — the Western Hemisphere’s largest multi-industry, multi-departmental energy publication — and a motivational speaker. His Alligator Management & Marketing seminars and keynote presentations are delivered on a regular basis to energy and industry entrepreneurs, management and sales professionals in business, industry and media groups across America.

    In 2005, Heard launched BIC Media Solutions (BMS). Since its inception, BMS has published seven books. Books by Earl B. Heard are It’s What We Do Together That Counts, Energy Entrepreneurs, Industry Achievers, Earl’s Pearls, Michael Learns to Listen and Louisiana Sports Legends and Heroes—Leaving A Legacy. In 2013, the company expanded into media investments with a stake in Scene magazine. In 2014, BMS expanded its media investments into co-producing and marketing inspirational, family-friendly, faith-based films. The first foray into this endeavor was A Gift Horse, starring John Schneider.

    Now semi-retired, Heard is still doing energy and media consultation. His latest project entitled Rock Bottom and Back includes a book and a TV pilot. In addition to Rock Bottom, Heard is also involved in the funding and co-production of Project Pearl, and raising capital for Unshaken and Capture the Flag.

    David Austin

    David Austin has over 30 years of sales, marketing and product development experience, including 15 years of Christian retail products experience. David accepted the position to head Bridgestone Multimedia Group in 2007. The BMG team is focused on being the industry standard and are among the favorite of content providers for distribution of faith-based films. Bridgestone has enjoyed monumental growth and built a reputation as a “producer-friendly” distribution partner.

    Prior to his time in the faith-based products industry, David served for over 15 years in the coatings industry with worldwide leaders such as ICI/Glidden and The Sherwin-Williams Company where he honed his sales, marketing and product developments skills before being “called” to service in an industry where his strong business skills could be put to use “Kingdom building.”

    David will teach a workshop on Wed, Sept 20 called "Making Movies That Sell." Do you want to know what distributors, retailers and consumers are looking for in a movie? This class has the answers. On Friday he will be part of a Discussion Panel – "Distribution of Your Content."

    Chris Bueno

    Chris Bueno, Ocean Ave Entertainment, began his career in Christian television in 1979.  He has produced numerous projects, including “The Scenic Wonders Bible” and the highly successful Lee Strobel series. In 2004, he co-founded Carmel Entertainment Group, a company specializing in distribution.  As President, he was instrumental in securing distribution for numerous films and television series, among them “Fireproof,” “Flywheel,” “Facing the Giants,” “Faith Like Potatoes,” and “Drive Through History.”

    Ocean Avenue Entertainment, Inc. was established in 2009 and is owned by Chris and his wife Denise. Three years later, Ocean Ave established a direct relationship with Netflix; Numerous films and series have been licensed to Netflix through Ocean Ave including, “Thou Shalt Laugh,” “Mighty Macs,” “End of the Spear,” and “Beyond the Gates of Splendor.” In 2016 alone, Ocean Avenue has brought 11 films to Netflix beginning with “23 Blast.” Most recent films, in addition to USA, have been licensed in Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and many throughout Latin America. “In-Lawfully Yours” became the first ever Worldwide Premier on Netflix of a faith-based movie in September 2016.

    In December 2016, Ocean Avenue released “Greater,” into Christian retail stores throughout the USA through its new partnership with Capitol Christian Music Group. Most recently, Ocean Avenue announced the release of “Victor.”

    Chris will lead a workshop called, “Faith in Netflix --- Unpacking the Mystery of How Faith Content Fits in the World’s First Global TV Network” on Sept 20, 2017. Points included are:
    • How did Netflix become the largest global TV network and how does faith content fit into their plans?
    • Netflix knows they have a substantial base of subscribers that appreciate content that appeals to their faith.
    • What are the 3 major things Netflix is looking for in a feature film or documentary?
    • Other important things that will elevate your film.
    • Congratulations you’ve got a Netflix deal! Now, how do you optimize the release of your film on other platforms?


    On Sept 22, Chris will be part of a Discussion Panel on “Distribution of Your Content”
