J Loren Norris

J Loren Norris
Communications
Leadership Track 2

J Loren Norris was a 2011 Toastmasters “International Speech Contest” semifinalist from among 35,000 contestants, and has trained under some of the best communicators ever to grace the stage—from Zig Ziglar, Les Brown, and Craig Valentine to John Maxwell. Loren has made it his life’s work to study and teach the leadership power of effective communication. A Certified John Maxwell Leadership Coach, Loren actively trains leaders, teachers and pastors for Gateway Church and The Kings University, among others. He also teaches entrepreneurial leadership at Brookhaven College on occasion. He firmly believes “Nothing has the power to change your life like a word that rings forever in your heart.”

Loren will teach a 3 hour Boot Camp on Communication Inspired Leadership. Moses and others used stories before the first five books of the Bible were penned. Jesus used stories in the form of parables to convey truths otherwise hard to hear and to relate to people of different cultures, classes and regions. Jesus uses stories to remind us of promises yet to come. In the end, we will overcome the evil one by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony: our story.

The idea of telling our own true and personal story generally has one of two nerve driven expressions: We don’t know where to start because we are afraid to say too much, or we don’t know when to stop because there is so much to tell. Loren will teach you the Biblical elements and the best practices of story selection, story crafting and story telling to be clear, concise, authentic, emotionally invested and impactful in the delivery of your story. You will also be armed with an arsenal of different stories from your own life testimony for different occasions and conversations.
