Rob Price

Rob Price graduated from Evangel University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting/Journalism and later earned a Master’s degree in TV/Film from Regent University. In 2015, he earned a terminal degree in the Communications field through a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Screenwriting & Film Studies from Hollins University.
Price worked several years as a TV reporter/producer for the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN). Later he served seven years in church ministry at Lakeview Church in Indianapolis as evangelism/media outreach pastor. Rob currently serves as an assistant professor in the Communication Arts Department at Southwestern A/G University (SAGU) and teaches various digital media courses.
Since 2008, Rob has served as executive producer of four student films at SAGU, with the most recent project being a full-length feature film shot/released in 4k in March 2015 at Showbiz Cinemas in Waxahachie, Texas. Under his leadership, students in the Digital Media Arts program have accumulated more than a dozen national awards for individual and team film productions. He is committed to advancing the film industry across the North Texas area.
On Sept 20, Rob Price and Andrew Librizzi will teach a Content17 workshop, as part of the Screenwriting Track entitled "Mastering a Movie's Beat Sheet: The Secret Structure to Successful Screenplays."
Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither are film scripts. Building an idea from its first spark through the finished screenplay requires careful structure and planning. Stages include: the logline, the two-page synopsis, key character biographies, the beat sheet, the step outline, the “vomit” draft, the revision drafts, and final draft. This session will introduce all the stages but drills down on the critically important “beat sheet” component (based on the model from the book Save the Cat written by Blake Snyder).  The session will include a case study from the film "The Devil Wears Prada."
